Leeds line up last-ditch deal to sign midfielder Daniel Farke has already managed

Leeds United are eyeing a late move for FC Krasnodar midfielder Eduard Spertsyan on deadline day.

It has been an extremely quiet transfer window for Daniel Farke’s men so far, with Facundo Buonanotte and Leonard Ngenge the only two incomings.

However, the Whites are now in pursuit of Spertsyan, who has already managed 21 goal contributions from just 18 league games in Russia this season.

Leeds will have to move quickly to get the deal over the line with the deadline fast approaching, but Farke already has a link with the Armenian star.

Leeds explore last-ditch move for Eduard Spertsyan

Leeds previously tried to sign Spertsyan last summer, but failed to get a deal over the line before the deadline.

According to the Daily Mail, the Whites are now back in for the Armenian, as Farke attempts to bolster his squad.

The German is well aware of the 25-year-old, as he was appointed Krasnodar manager back in January 2022.

However, he didn’t take charge of a single match for the club and left less than two months later as a result of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

That hasn’t quelled Farke’s interest in the creative midfielder though, as the Whites race to bring him in before the winter transfer window comes to a close.

It is far from a straightforward deal to complete for Leeds, but Spertsyan is reportedly keen to move to the Premier League.

Who is Eduard Spertsyan?

Leeds are looking to sign at least one player on deadline day, and Spertsyan could be the man who comes through the door at Elland Road.

The 25-year-old is the current Russian Premier League Player of the Year, and has racked up some impressive numbers over the last three and a half seasons.

Since the beginning of the 2022-23 campaign, Spertsyan has managed an incredible 79 goal contributions in the league, finding the back of the net 40 times and picking up 39 assists.

The attacking midfielder also has 40 caps for Armenia and was announced as captain of the national team in November 2025.
