Leeds in talks to sign Man City defender Kasen Brown: ‘He’s one of the most talented left-backs in England’

Leeds have held talks with Man City defender Kasen Brown.

According to an Instagram post from The Talent Hunter, Leeds have been in discussion with the 15-year-old over a move to Thorp Arch.

The Whites are reportedly going to face some stiff competition for his signature though, with Man United, Brighton and Nottingham Forest all understood to have held talks with him too.

Brown is reportedly leaving Man City at the end of this season, and a host of other Premier League sides are also said to be monitoring his situation.

Who is reported Leeds target Kasen Brown?

A left-back by trade, Brown has been playing for Man City’s Under-16s side this season.

He also took part in the Future Star Cup tournament in Shanghai last summer with City, which is a youth invitational tournament held there every summer.

Left-footed, Brown has been touted as one of the top young left-backs in English football at the moment, which was recognised when handed his first England Under-16 call-up this week.

Therefore, he could be a huge coup for Leeds if they were to win his signature, and he could be handed a faster pathway to first-team football at Elland Road rather than at the Etihad.

Given his age though, it would still be surely some time before Leeds supporters would get the opportunity to potentially see him in the first-team.

Leeds may have advantage in Brown transfer chase

Given the profile of clubs circling Brown’s signature, it certainly won’t be a straightforward deal for Leeds to do if they are to acquire his services in the summer.

But, the Whites do potentially have a trump card to play, and it involves one of Brown’s former Man City academy comrades, Jayden Lienou.

The 17-year-old Lienou was signed by Leeds from Man City in July 2025, penning a three-year deal in West Yorkshire.

Like Brown, Lienou is also a left-back, and has been a regular in Leeds’ Under-21 side this season, starting pretty much every game.

Therefore, Lienou could be able to convince Brown to join him at Thorp Arch this summer, and should give a good sales pitch to the Man City defender over why Leeds would be the right choice for him.
