Leeds in shock late talks for Harry Wilson deal as private jets arrives at Leeds-Bradford Airport

Leeds United seem to be on the verge of signing Fulham and Wales forward Harry Wilson.

It’s been a frustrating end to Leeds’ summer transfer window.

Leeds have shown an interest in Aston Villa’s Emi Buendia as Daniel Farke looks to make last-ditch additions to his attack.

However, it seems as though the Leeds manager has opted for Fulham’s Wilson instead.

Leeds edge closer to signing long-term target Harry Wilson

Wilson was linked with Leeds four years ago when he was at Liverpool.

Since then, the 28-year-old has become a key player for Fulham, appearing 150 times for them in all competitions, scoring 25 goals and supplying 38 assists.

However, United now look as though they’re getting their past target on summer deadline day in 2025 with Graham Smyth reporting that they’re in talks to sign him from Fulham.

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist reported via his personal X account on Monday that Leeds are in talks for a move for the Welsh star.

Smyth added that “coincidentally, there’s a jet arriving from Cardiff at LBA (Leeds-Bradford Airport) later this afternoon.”

How’s Harry Wilson performed for Fulham so far this season?

Wilson has played in all four of Fulham’s games this term; three times in the Premier League and once in the Carabao Cup.

He started their 1-1 draw with Brighton on the opening day and their 2-0 win over Bristol City in the cup, but had to make do as a substitute against Manchester United and Chelsea.

Marco Silva likely dropped Wilson to the bench for those two games in anticipation of his team having fewer chances and less of the ball.

He’s averaged a rating of 6.33 on WhoScored for his Premier League appearances, which isn’t great.

He’s completed 90.6 per cent of his passes and mustered just 1.2 shots at goal and completed only half his dribbles (1.2) per 90 minutes of action.

Overall, it’s been an underwhelming start to both his and Fulham’s campaigns.

Maybe he’ll look the part at Leeds, who could do with signing more than just Wilson on deadline day.
