Leeds in hunt to sign £20m-rated West Brom star Matheus Pereira

Leeds United are among a number of Premier League clubs who are interested in signing Matheus Pereira from West Brom, according to the Express.

Although the Baggies have been relegated from the Premier League, 25-year-old Pereira has been in stunning form at The Hawthorns, scoring 10 goals and assisting a further five in 31 top-flight appearances this season.

The Express claims Leicester are in pole position to sign Pereira as it stands but Leeds, West Ham and RB Leipzig are also keen on the Brazilian playmaker.

With Leeds reportedly readying a move to sign Pereira in the summer, West Brom are demanding up to £20million for the attacker, who signed from Sporting CP on a permanent basis last year after a successful loan spell at The Hawthorns.

Get him in

Pereira has been brilliant this season even though West Brom have been absolutely woeful.

We all saw last season how good the South American attacker was in the Championship as his assists almost single-handedly saw the Baggies win promotion.

He can play out wide on the right or in behind the striker, using his left foot to score, create chances and dazzle against opposition defenders.

On Sunday, Pereira scored a stunning solo effort as West Brom lost 3-1 to Arsenal and had their relegation confirmed.

Leeds need to strengthen their midfield options in the summer and we’re sure that Pereira would add an X-factor that the side is currently missing in the middle.

While we have Raphinha on the wing, we often rely too much on creativity from out wide.

Pereira can add an extra dimension to our attack, combining with Raphinha and link-up king Patrick Bamford to shine at Elland Road.

In other Leeds United news, it’s been reported whether Patrick Bamford wants to stay at Elland Road amid interest from Liverpool
