Leeds United must act with haste if they are to avoid further disappointment in the transfer window.

Sunderland have landed Habib Diarra, while they have agreed a deal for Noah Sadiki and are in advanced talks for Reinildo Mandava.

Now, Leeds want to do some gatecrashing of their own by signing Timothy Weah, who is wanted by Tottenham.

Leeds United join Tottenham in Weah chase as price tag revealed

As has happened with several of their summer targets, Leeds will face a battle to land Juventus winger Timothy Weah.

The right-winger made an abundance of appearances for the Old Lady last season, but found opportunities sparse in Serie A.

Weah made 30 league appearances last term, with the majority of those coming as a substitute.

The American international managed 11 goal contributions in all competitions, including two in Juventus' underwhelming Champions League campaign.

Now, Leeds have joined Tottenham and Everton in tracking Weah, according to Foot Mercato (3 July).

The outlet highlights that the projects of the respective clubs are very different, but that the 25-year-old is spoiled for choice.

Weah has three years remaining on his current deal, and the French publication reports that he could be sold for £12.9million.

Weah not the answer Farke needs at Elland Road

While Weah enjoyed his best numbers in front of goal last season, he is not what Leeds need right now.

A new goalkeeper and striker must be the top priority for the Peacocks if they are to have any chance of surviving in the Premier League.

Of course, the Whites have acquired Nmecha to challenge Joel Piroe, but his numbers are not exactly eye-catching.

Leeds do need a winger to fill the Manor Solomon-shaped hole left on the left-wing, but Weah does not appear to be the answer.

Yes, Weah has been playing at a higher level, but his number of starts and goals suggest he is not up to that standard.
