Leeds defender signs contract to seal last-gasp Elland Road loan exit, second deal to follow
Leeds United could be set for further departures from Elland Road with just hours until deadline day.
The Whites have already confirmed two exits this window, with both Jack Harrison and Harry Gray departing on loan.
Harrison’s move to Fiorentina certainly came as a surprise, while there are high hopes for Gray and his temporary stint at Rotherham United.
It looks as if other youngsters are keen to pick up experience away from LS11, with further deals set to go through elsewhere.
Daniel Farke and Co. are looking to the long-term and are agreeing on arrangements that seek to benefit all parties this winter.
Reuben Lopata-White set for Leeds United exit
Reuben Lopata-White signed a professional deal at Leeds in 2024, which should keep him in Yorkshire until 2027.
The 20-year-old has trained with Farke’s first team at times, but now looks set for his first proper plunge into men’s football.
Mark Hendry reported on Monday that Greenock Morton are edging closer to the loan signing of the centre-back.
The defender is in Scotland ahead of the temporary move, and he looks set to sign a contract until the end of the season with the Scottish Championship side.
There is every chance Lopata-White is joined by another new signing at Cappielow Park, with “another deadline-busting move” said to be edging closer.
Lopata-White to join ex-Leeds talent Kris Moore at Greenock Morton
A move to western Scotland may be seen by many at Elland Road as a rogue call by the Whites, but it does appear to make sense.
Lopata-White needs to settle in quickly at a new club to help acclimatise to senior football, so joining a former teammate could help that process go smoothly.
That is what he will find in Kris Moore, who departed Leeds last summer to join Greenock Morton on a free transfer.
The 22-year-old could help the Leeds loanee settle down in the Championship and take to life in a new country and league as soon as possible.
