Leeds ‘crazy’ if they don’t sign Tanganga as bargain Millwall news emerges
Daniel Farke is eager to get his Leeds United side in shape, ready for a return to the Premier League.
Leeds may be in a better position this time around, with the 49ers Enterprises in charge, but PSR restrictions will still be playing heavily on the Whites’ minds.
With that in mind, the Whites will have to be shrewd in their business this summer, with Japhet Tanganga already being eyed as a potential addition from the Championship.

Leeds to benefit from Millwall price
Although Farke formed an excellent squad to carry his side into the Premier League as champions, there is plenty of work to be done over the summer.
With the restrictions having some impact on the Whites’ ambitions, the boss may be ready to look at the best of the Championship to add to his side.
Tanganga had an excellent season in the second tier with Millwall and was awarded his side’s player of the year award as recognition of his performances.
The defender is under contract at The Den but, according to Richard Cawley (4 June), has a release clause of £1.2million to be released from his contract.
Cawley reports that the release clause can only be triggered by Premier League clubs, giving the Whites a strong chance of landing his services, despite a potential fight with Burnley and Sunderland.
Speaking to Football League World (8 June), Lee Hendrie has argued that Farke’s men would be crazy not to make a move as he said: “Well, it’s absolutely nothing really when you think about it, with the fees that we see these days, but obviously he sees himself stepping back into the Premier League which – I’ve watched him at Millwall quite a lot – and you can see that he’s got that strength, that power.
“To be fair, he obviously backs himself to take that step up, but yes, I’d be very surprised if one of the newly-promoted clubs wouldn’t take a punt on him.
“I think it’d be crazy if they didn’t go and activate that release clause, he can definitely do a job for sure, so it would not surprise me if that was in the summertime, it happens.”
Leeds should try for Tanganga
Although it would require striking a deal with one of their biggest rivals, Leeds should be looking to secure the services of Tanganga this summer.
As Hendrie says, his release clause is fairly low for a player of his quality, which already makes it an attractive proposition.

However, the defender already has a fair amount of Premier League experience thanks to his time with Tottenham and that could really work in Leeds’ favour.
Farke needs a good mix, but gaining recruits who are already confident in their abilities at the top level will be a massive boost to his side’s chances at survival.
