Leeds close in on deal to sign Brendan Rodgers star boy he once tipped for England call-up
Leeds United are edging closer to their eighth signing of the summer.
To this point, the Whites have confirmed multiple deals as Leeds return to Premier League action against Everton on Monday (18 August).
This has seen Daniel Farke most recently bring Lucas Perri to Leeds from Lyon, but could now be set to make further defensive reinforcements.
The Elland Road club could now lean on the expertise of Brendan Rodgers to complete a last-gasp move before the new campaign begins.

Rodgers favourite edges closer to Leeds move
There is no getting away from the fact that the LS11 outfit are still in need of fresh faces before the window comes to an end.
This is especially the case when it comes to true Premier League experience, something which certain areas of the squad are lacking.
As a result, it may come as a boost to learn that Leeds are progressing in their efforts to sign James Justin from Leicester City.
Alex Crook reported on 15 August that a deal was advancing at Elland Road to land the right-back, someone who has been held in high regard previously.

Former Leicester boss, Rodgers, backed the 27-year-old for an England call-up back in 2021 after a stellar run of form at the King Power.
In an interview with The Telegraph (10 January 2021), he said: “I’m sure Gareth [Southgate] keeps an eye on all the Under-21 boys, but for us, JJ is getting better with every game that he plays and with the experience he is gaining.
“He is a fantastic talent. He is working very hard, and he still has a lot of work to do, but at 22 years of age, he is developing very, very well.”

Justin edges closer to Leeds United move
It appears that there aren’t huge funds available for Farke to spend, so a move for James Justin makes perfect sense as the doors open at Leicester.
This could see the Englishman soon link up with other summer additions like new defensive signing Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw and Gabriel Gudmundsson.
Although the right-back wouldn’t be the most exciting addition, his experience at the top level on a cheap deal could represent a real coup in Yorkshire.
Stat | James Justin |
Appearances | 99 |
Goals | 4 |
Assists | 7 |
It will be interesting to see how many minutes he would accrue in a Leeds shirt, especially given the competition he’ll face from Jayden Bogle.
