Leeds back in hunt for attacker they almost signed in 2019, scored in Europe this week – report
Leeds United are back in the hunt to sign Ryan Kent after scouts were sent to watch him play for Rangers on Wednesday night, according to Football Insider.
The news outlet claims that Leeds also watched over centre-back Connor Goldson as Rangers secured a 4-2 aggregate victory against Braga in the Europa League.
Kent, 23, scored the only goal of the game in Portugal as the Scottish giants won 1-0 and now Leeds are back on the trail of the former Liverpool winger.
Football Insider reports that Leeds almost signed Kent before he swapped Anfield for Ibrox last year.
Since making his stay in Glasgow permanent for £7million, the winger has scored seven goals and supplied four assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.
Leeds are now eyeing possible signings for the summer transfer window when they could be preparing for a campaign in the Premier League and Kent is deemed as someone who has the ability for England’s top-flight.
Marcelo Bielsa has plenty of wide options in his squad at the moment.
Jack Harrison may be on loan at Elland Road but there is a possibility his stay could become permanent in the summer while there are also Ezgjan Alioski and Stuart Dallas who can play on the left-wing, which is Kent’s regular position at Rangers.
Kent may be doing well in Scotland but it is an enormous step up from the Scottish Premiership to the Premier League and you would think that Leeds’ current wingers are better prepared than the ex-Liverpool man.
