Leeds ace Harry Gray set to reach contract agreement amid Tottenham transfer talk

Leeds United starlet Harry Gray looks set to put pen to paper on a contract.

Gray is yet to make his Premier League debut for Leeds after playing a squad role at Elland Road in the back end of last season.

The 17-year-old is now learning his trade at Thorp Arch as the signing of Dominic Calvert-Lewin continues to benefit Gray’s progress at Leeds.

Gray could still be set for a breakout season with the Whites, that is, if he sticks around for the long term in Yorkshire.

The striker has recently been linked to Tottenham, with Grey looking set to green-light a contract agreement.

Harry Gray set to sign new deal at Leeds United

Daniel Farke has been wary with Gray and has held back from throwing him in the deep end in the top division of English football.

Despite this, Tottenham and Manchester City have showcased an interest in the teenage sensation’s signature in recent months.

His brother, Archie Gray, has already made the switch to the Lilywhites, with the forward potentially in line to follow in his sibling’s footsteps to North London.

The Yorkshire Evening Post has reported on 16 October that Leeds are now expected to agree a fresh contract with Gray.

There has been speculation over his future, but just weeks after turning 17, he could land a new deal as part of the first team at Elland Road.

Leeds have to change approach with Gray

If the teen is willing to agree a new deal in LS11, it does feel as if his game time will have to change as the season moves on.

Gray is arguably the brightest talent available at Thorp Arch right now and is benefiting from the influx of quality since promotion.

The only way he will truly improve is to pick up minutes, and there is no doubt that Premier League games will be a steep but potentially beneficial learning curve.

This new contract could indicate an improved level of game time, but that will ultimately depend on Farke’s decisions throughout the rest of the campaign.
