Leeds accelerating towards Lewis O'Brien deal, could be done ASAP - report
Leeds United are accelerating to complete the signing of Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O'Brien, according to Yorkshire Live.
It is suggested that the deal has moved significantly closer to being completed on Tuesday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, the Telegraph reported that a £7million deal with add-ons had been deemed as hopeful.
It finally looks as though it is set to be completed.
O'Brien has missed the first two games of the Championship season with Huddersfield and looks set to miss this evening's clash with Preston, too.
Although the first two were due to a positive COVID-19 test, it looks as though any further absences will be to complete his switch across West Yorkshire.
The Terriers have already rejected two bids, as shared on the Yorkshire Live piece, and we finally look to have made a breakthrough.
Get it done.
With the move now accelerating quickly, it looks as though it could be completed through the week.
O'Brien won't need to move house, it won't take long to make the short trip to Thorp Arch for any medicals, and it should be done with no hiccups.
We are desperate for midfield reinforcements, Saturday proved that, and the 22-year-old will offer us just that, potentially ahead of the Everton clash.
That will be the boost everyone needs, and hopefully if registered in time, we could see our potential new signing on the Elland Road pitch.
