Kasen Brown tipped for England World Cup squad as Leeds enter discussions to sign wonderkid

Leeds have been told that reported transfer target Kasen Brown will play for England in the future.

According to The Talent Hunter on Instagram, Leeds have held talks with Brown over a potential move to Thorp Arch.

It’s understood that the 15-year-old defender has also been in discussions with Man United, Brighton and Nottingham Forest respectively, as he’s set to leave Man City this summer.

Brown did also receive his first England Under-16s call-up this week, but a coach who has worked with the teenage left-back believes he’ll represent the Three Lions on the biggest stages of all.

What has this coach said about Kasen Brown’s England future?

It goes without saying that you don’t develop through Man City’s academy system and represent England at youth level if you don’t have plenty of ability and potential.

And, with Leeds boasting one of the top youth systems in English football out of Thorp Arch, Daniel Farke will feel confident that the Whites hierarchy can put a strong sales pitch together for Brown.

That will likely involve the fact that he could reunite with his former Man City academy teammate Jayden Lienou, who signed from the Cityzens in July 2025.

Leeds have also been given a glowing reference on Brown from Coach Corey on Instagram, who replied to the aforementioned post to share his experience of working with the defender.

“Any club beyond lucky to have him. One of the best I ever worked with,” said the coach.

“Promise you now he will represent England in the euros and World Cup in the future. Amazing family too.”

How are Leeds’ academy teams doing at the moment?

Given how strong of a reputation Leeds have for producing quality young players, Whites fans always have one eye on how their youth teams are faring.

However, their Under-21 side are struggling at the moment, having lost four-straight Premier League 2 games on the bounce.

As such, Scott Gardner’s side are currently sitting 22nd of 29 in Premier League 2, having won just four of their 13 games in that competition this term.

That could largely be explained by the departure of Harry Gray to Rotherham on loan though, as the 17-year-old striker was the Under-21s’ top scorer with six goals before joining the League One relegation contenders in January.

Meanwhile, the Under-18s are faring slightly better in the Under-18 Premier League, occupying eighth place ahead of their clash with Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.
