Karl Darlow's future at Leeds United is still uncertain with Tottenham Hotspur keen on signing him this summer.

The goalkeeper became a regular starter for Daniel Farke last season, pushing £16million signing Lucas Perri out of the starting eleven.

Darlow has shown that age is just a number, and if anything, has only shown improvement in the top flight this season just gone.

The 35-year-old is approaching the end of his career, and may want the best deal possible, with Spurs possibly willing to up his salary in North London.

However, Leeds have been told they should hand Darlow a new contract, as hesitancy to do so could be the reason for the shot-stopper making a switch this summer.

It's not known how much Tottenham could offer Leeds for Darlow, but it's thought that they would pry him away from LS11 with an increased wage.

Goalkeeper is not thought to be an area that the Whites are looking to improve this summer, with Perri an investment that proves tricky for the 49ers.

They can't just sell Perri already due to the amount they spent on the Brazilian, as the loss they would most likely see from his sale would negatively affect their financial books again.

That being said, if Leeds lost Darlow, their plans to build elsewhere in the squad could be disrupted by the need to sign a new man inbetween the sticks.

So it is now critical that Leeds talk with Darlow about his future, and resolve any lingering uncertainty, as soon as possible.

Lucas Perri could still improve for Leeds

Though Perri started off on the wrong foot at Elland Road, his performances in the FA Cup proved there was still hope for him at Leeds.

He made a wonderful save in the win against Birmingham City, becoming the penalty shootout hero to make the headlines, too.

The 28-year-old did have some good moments in the quarter-final against West Ham, but did show shaky signs at the same time.

However, his natural shot-stopping abilities can't be questioned, but it may be his confidence in other areas that can be improved with time.

But Leeds can't bank on that.
