Kalvin Phillips sends message after confirmed Leeds United transfer announcement

Kalvin Phillips has sent a message of support to Crysencio Summerville after his departure from Leeds United to West Ham United was confirmed.

Summerville has officially made the switch to the Hammers ahead of the new Premier League season, as confirmed by Leeds on Saturday (3 August).

In response to an Instagram post from Summerville (3 August), former United team-mate Phillips had a short and sweet message as he prepares for his next adventure with West Ham.

Manchester City midfielder Phillips replied with: “All the best little bro!”

Crysencio Summerville officially a West Ham player

For Leeds United fans, there’s always going to be talk of a potential return to Elland Road for Phillips. It makes sense, too, when you consider that things haven’t quite gone to plan at Manchester City.

Of course, alongside his stint with the champions, the England international also had a loan spell with West Ham United last season.

Phillips knows and understands what it means to leave Leeds in search of pastures new. For Summerville, he’s ready to test the waters at the elite level in the Premier League.

While it’s great to see support for such a huge move in his career, it’s also crucial that Summerville looks upon Phillips’ journey as a cautionary tale.

It’s all about adapting to your surroundings and Phillips took a huge risk with a step up to Manchester City.

It feels like Summerville is hungry to make a quick impact in the weeks and months to come but for Leeds United, they can feel proud knowing how many top quality players they’re producing in recent years.
