Junior Firpo move allows Stuart Dallas to stay in Leeds United midfield
Stuart Dallas will be able to continue playing in the Leeds United midfield next season with Junior Firpo set to arrive from Barcelona, according to Mirror journalist David Anderson.
Writing on the Mirror website, Anderson reports that Leeds are in “advanced talks” to sign Firpo, who’s expected to replace Ezgjan Alioski as Marcelo Bielsa’s starting left-back next season.
Dallas can play as a left-back but the move for Firpo, which will cost the Whites £12.9million, means he can continue to play in the midfield after an impressive string of performances there in 2020/21.

Cookstown Kaka?
He’s hardly a right-back now, is he?
Dallas has been Mr Versatile for Bielsa at Elland Road, playing in almost every single outfield position.
He earned the nickname Cookstown Cafu due to his stellar full-back displays but after shining as a midfielder in the Premier League, surely he’s more like Kaka now?
Still, Firpo’s move to Elland Road means Dallas can continue to play in the position where he’s thrived in the last year and that’s great news.

It’s also great news that the Firpo deal looks as though it’s going to go through soon.
Alioski’s contract at Elland Road has expired and that leaves us with a void at left-back.
While the Mirror’s Anderson says a contract offer is still on the table for Alioski, he doesn’t seem committed to the cause at Leeds anymore.
Firpo will surely be out to prove people wrong after a poor spell at Barcelona, where he played just 14 times in La Liga last season.
