Josh Brownhill wants to sign for Leeds as personal terms offered

Leeds United are reportedly one of the clubs admired by Josh Brownhill as he has sealed his permanent Burnley exit.

Brownhill, 29, is now available on a free transfer as his contract at Turf Moor ran out at the end of June.

The Manchester-born midfielder has 111 Premier League appearances under his belt and is now looking for a new club.

Brownhill admires Daniel Farke as Leicester City make offer

According to FourFourTwo journalist Joe Donnohue (31 July), Brownhill likes the project at Leeds United.

He is also said to be an admirer of Daniel Farke and wants to work with the German manager.

However, whether or not the Whites are keen on the former Clarets man remains to be seen.

The Elland Road outfit have added Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff to their midfield this summer.

Leicester City are also keen on signing the 29-year-old and have even made an offer to him.

Leeds United could do with Brownhill offering depth in midfield

Signing Brownhill on a free transfer is a strategic move for Leeds United, offering low risk and significant upside.

The 29-year-old former Burnley captain brings proven experience and versatility as a holding, central or attacking midfielder.

His addition bolsters squad depth without financial strain, crucial for Leeds’ survival push in the competitive Premier League.

Brownhill has the ability to contribute offensively and defensively, enhancing midfield dynamism alongside existing options like Ethan Ampadu.

As a free agent, there’s no transfer fee, minimising financial risk while securing a player at his peak, capable of performing in both the Championship and Premier League.

Despite interest from other clubs, Leeds’ promotion makes them an attractive destination, ensuring Brownhill’s signing strengthens their squad for the 2025/26 season.

It remains to be seen if Farke asks the hierarchy to make a move for the English midfielder or if he ends up joining another club this summer.
