Jose Mourinho loses patience in Roma bid to sign Rasmus Kristensen as work done to complete deal

Jose Mourinho is “running out of patience” as Roma struggle to conclude a number of deals, including one for Leeds United right-back Ramus Kristensen, according to Il Messaggero.

The Italian newspaper reported on Sunday (9 July) that Roma are interested in signing West Ham’s Gianluca Scamacca, Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata, Manchester United’s Scott McTominay, Bayern Munich’s Marcel Sabitzer, free agent Daichi Kamada, PSG’s Renato Sanches and Leeds’ Kristensen, among others.

It is understood that “work is being done” to sign the 25-year-old Danish right-back.

Il Messaggero adds that on Monday (10 July), Roma will begin pre-season training with time running out for Mourinho to add to his squad before the Serie A season starts on 20 August.

At least it’s Jose

We want to see Leeds move on players like Kristensen this summer.

He was one of the players brought in last year by Jesse Marsch and Victor Orta but had very little effect in the first team at Elland Road.

Ultimately, Luke Ayling was at times better than Kristensen in the Premier League and Leeds’ best right-back was, potentially, out on loan in Cody Drameh.

Next season, we’ll probably have both Ayling and Drameh at right-back, with the latter hopefully taking the place of Ayling in the starting line-up for Daniel Farke.

Kristensen has no place at Elland Road and getting him off the wage bill makes a lot of sense.

The former Red Bull Salzburg man needs to go but at least there’s a delay that’s annoying Mourinho.

There is, after all, a silver lining about how long this deal is taking to complete.

It’s also funny that the former Manchester United manager thinks that Kristensen would be a good signing for his side.
