Jorgen Strand Larsen agent at Elland Road amid Leeds United interest as reason explained

Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen’s agent was at Elland Road for Leeds United’s clash with Fulham on Saturday afternoon, but there’s an innocent reason why.

Leeds have expressed an interest in signing Strand Larsen from Wolves, but that interest is still at a very early stage.

A fee of £40million may be required for Leeds to sign Strand Larsen in transfer news that has not exactly got United fans excited.

Strand Larsen‘s agent being present at Elland Road on Saturday may well have got many speculating a deal could be close, but that is not necessarily the case.

Why was Jorgen Strand Larsen’s agent at Elland Road?

There is no doubt that Wolves ace Strand Larsen has his qualities, but the money being quoted for the Norway international is far too much.

As pointed out by Yorkshire Evening News reporter Graham Smyth via X, Strand Larsen’s agent was in attendance for Leeds‘ clash with Fulham.

However, Smyth also pointed out that his agent is a Leeds season ticket holder and a regular at Elland Road, so it has nothing to do with the recent speculation regarding the striker.

“JSL’s agent at ER today,” Smyth wrote. “As his his right, of course, as a ST holder and regular match-going Leeds fan.

Something so very brilliantly Leeds about that. Fans literally everywhere, even in transfer deals they want to do. Whether it counts for anything is another thing.

Strand Larsen is expected to start for Wolves when they face Newcastle United at Molineux on Sunday afternoon.

What could Strand Larsen add to Leeds’ attack?

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is in the form of his life, but that is not to say Leeds do not need another forward.

Daniel Farke would no doubt love a prolific goalscorer similar to Calvert-Lewin to lighten the workload on his first-choice option up top.

However, Strand Larsen is definitely not that man. Indeed, the 25-year-old has just one goal to his name in the Premier League this season.

Strand Larsen also has just one assist, so he is not exactly a creator.

To put a positive slant on the speculation, he is among the top 11 per cent of all forwards across Europe’s top five leagues for clearances (FBref).

It goes without saying, though, that Leeds fans will not get excited about his defensive abilities. Let’s just hope the initial interest stays at just that.
