Joe Rodon set to join Leeds United as transfer close at Elland Road
Tottenham defender Joe Rodon is set to join Leeds United on a permanent transfer, according to Alex Crook.
The talkSPORT journalist has reported that the Wales international will remain at Elland Road as part of the deal to send Archie Gray to Spurs.
Gray has already completed his medical in North London, with Leeds set to benefit with cash plus their solid former loanee, who became a hero at Elland Road.
Joe Rodon set to seal Leeds United transfer
This is excellent news if you can scrape any from the situation.
Gray has already agreed personal terms with Spurs and if a large sum of cash comes with this player swap, Leeds will be laughing.
The young prodigy is obviously a huge loss, but Rodon staying permanently will cover that blow and could also see the likes of Crysencio Summerville stay where they are.
This is already better than the potential of Gray joining Brentford for cash only, with that deal finally booted out over the payment structure on Sunday 30 June [Graham Smyth].
With the club also hours away from an agreement to sell Diego Llorente permanently [Estadio Deportivo] and Charlie Cresswell also leaving, bringing Rodon back is exactly what Daniel Farke needs.
With Gray now on the verge of leaving the club officially, hopefully, we can see an announcement that brings Rodon back to Elland Road on top of that to cover some pain.
In other Leeds news, a player has jetted out of the UK to put pen to paper on a deal to leave the club permanently.
