Jesurun Rak-Sakyi development emerges as Leeds United eye new transfer

Sheffield United have emerged as frontrunners ahead of Leeds United and Hull City to sign Jesurun Rak-Sakyi from Crystal Palace, according to Lyall Thomas.

The Sky Sports journalist reported on 8 August that no decision had been made just yet with three clubs in the running to sign the 21-year-old right winger.

Palace will allow the Englishman to leave on loan in this transfer window and he could be registered at a Championship club in time to feature over the weekend.

Via X, Thomas wrote: “SheffieldUnited believed to be the frontrunners for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on loan as things stand but no final decision yet amid continued interest from Leeds and Hull.

Leeds United must steal a march on Sheffield United for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi

Leeds should not give up on Rak-Sakyi because he represents a significant opportunity to strengthen their squad.

He is a versatile and talented winger who has shown his ability to perform at a high level and has Premier League experience too.

Securing Rak-Sakyi would also provide Leeds with more tactical options and depth in their attack.

Convincing him to join ahead of the Blades will now be a challenge but it’s on the Whites to try and agree personal terms with the 21-year-old.

With the departure of Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto facing an uncertain future, the club are in desperate need of reinforcements.

It remains to be seen if Daniel Farke intervenes and helps the Whites get this over the line as he would be an important signing.

In other Leeds United news, a bidding war update emerges as the Whites want to sign an £8.5m-rated attacker.
