Leeds United have yet to lodge a formal bid for Sheffield United defender Jayden Bogle but plan to do so soon, according to Leeds Live.

The online source reported on Tuesday (16 July) that, while Leeds have not made an official offer for the full-back yet, the club understand the importance of a deal being done and a bid could be lodged "imminently".

Alan Nixon previously reported [14 July] that the Whites made a £3million bid for the 23-year-old, though that report has now been quashed.

The right-back position is clearly one of concern for Daniel Farke ahead of the summer transfer window.

Following the exits of Archie Gray and Jamie Shackleton, the manager has been left with few options in the position.

Sam Byram can cover on the right flank, though he looks more comfortable on the left with Junior Firpo, while it is unclear what Rasmus Kristensen's future holds at Elland Road.

Bogle would certainly alleviate those worries heading into the 2024/25 campaign, having been one of the better players as the Blades were relegated with a whimper last season.

He started 32 of their 38 Premier League matches, scoring three goals, very much enjoying the attacking side of the game as a wing-back.

It is understandable why Farke would be so interested in bringing a player of his quality to Elland Road this summer, especially considering the current issues at right-back.

The player's disciplinary record could be a concern, however, having picked up nine yellow cards in the Premier League and also seeming to be somewhat of a hot-head in the Championship.

His previous experience in the second tier would make him a valuable addition to the squad, though, as Leeds aim to secure promotion at the second time of asking.
