Jamie Vardy transfer advanced as Leeds United ready bargain move

Leeds United could potentially add Premier League experience to their squad with Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.

The 38-year-old will leave the Foxes at the end of the season after spending 13 seasons with them, winning the English top-flight title and the FA Cup among other things.

49ers Enterprise are expected to invest heavily at Elland Road, as the West Yorkshire outfit prepare for a significant summer transfer window.

Joel Piroe has been Daniel Farke’s first-choice number nine this season, but the former Swansea ace lacks Premier League nous, something Vardy may bring to LS11 soon.

Leeds United admire Vardy as potential transfer in advanced stages

Vardy’s move to his next club is at an advanced stage amid interest from the Whites, according to TEAMtalk.

The news outlet reports (2 May) that the West Yorkshire outfit admire the 38-year-old and believe he can contribute goals for them in the Premier League.

It’s been claimed that the Peacocks are one of the options for the English centre-forward as he hopes to continue in the top flight.

Vardy would be a bargain option for the 49ers if they want to bolster Farke’s attacking depth at Elland Road in the upcoming transfer window.

Farke needs reliable goalscorer at Elland Road

Farke has done an amazing job at Elland Road this season, winning automatic promotion with two games to go in the league.

The German manager has relied on Piroe to lead the line as the Whites have found the back of the net 93 times in the Championship.

Plymouth Argyle will host the Peacocks at Home Park in the final match of the regular season, with the opportunity of winning the title in their hands.

Burnley are level on points with Leeds but are behind on goal difference, giving Farke’s team the edge against them.

While winning promotion would arguably have been the primary objective at the start of the season, winning a trophy will be the cherry on top for the West Yorkshire outfit.

The 49ers won’t have much time to celebrate at the end of the season, as they need to build a competitive team to survive immediate relegation.

While it’s encouraging that the Peacocks have been free-scoring in the Championship, they arguably need someone better than Piroe as their main striker.

The Dutchman can play as a number 10, and it would make sense to have someone like Vardy in the squad to contribute goals, who’s scored 198 times for Leicester.

While the 38-year-old is undoubtedly not in his prime years, his expertise in the Premier League may come in handy.

Whether a deal for the Englishman at Elland Road will materialise remains to be seen.
