Atletico Madrid are said to be looking at Jaka Bijol after his recent performances at Leeds United.

The Slovenia international is claimed to be seen as a replacement for Clement Lenglet at the LaLiga outfit, with the centre-back on their radar since his Udinese days.

Bijol has started to gain Daniel Farke's trust after a slow start to his career with the Whites.

Jaka Bijol exit news not true at Leeds United

Bijol's departure from Leeds to Atletico is "hardly credible", according to Ekipa.

The news outlet reports on 19 December that Atletico's interest in the former Udinese star can be considered "fake news".

It's been claimed that while anything is possible in football, there's plenty to doubt about the Slovenia defender's exit from Elland Road.

Bijol has been a pivotal part of Farke's back three, and it wouldn't make any sense for the West Yorkshire outfit to part ways with him right now.

The Peacocks are battling Premier League relegation at the moment, making reinforcements a priority for them in the winter transfer window.

Elland Road to witness centre-back exit soon, but it won't be Jaka Bijol

Sebastiaan Bornauw moved to Elland Road in the summer, but the centre-back has gone through an undoubted nightmare this season.

Leeds have been without the defender on a few occasions due to injuries, but when the 26-year-old has been fit, Farke hasn't used him.

Bornauw's record at Leeds this season

The Belgium international has played around two minutes of Premier League football in the current campaign, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him leave.

While Bijol might not be leaving the West Yorkshire outfit anytime soon, Bornauw may force his way out.
