Jaka Bijol exit could be on at Leeds United as multi-time Champions League winners circle

Daniel Farke will not want to lose Jaka Bijol this late in Leeds United’s transfer window.

The German head coach has stressed the importance of making the right moves in the winter market, and the 49ers have been tiptoeing their way around transfer decisions.

Farke welcomed Facundo Buonanotte on loan, as the Whites have still only managed to sign one new key addition, with a deal for Jorgen Strand Larsen currently off the table at this stage.

Leeds knew they might have to sell players heading into the transfer window, but losing a player like Bijol so late in the window could be detrimental.

AC Milan target Jaka Bijol

Bijol has been growing in performances since arriving on a permanent deal from Serie A side Udinese in the summer.

The centre-back is now a firm starter in Farke‘s 3-5-2 formation, and leads by example in the way he fights for the badge.

The 26-year-old initially struggled to break into the Whites’ starting eleven, but now his potential departure could be Farke’s biggest nightmare.

According to Italian outlet La Sicilia in their print edition on Friday, Bijol has now emerged as a potential late transfer option for AC Milan.

The three-time Champions League winners are looking for a new centre-half in the final days of the transfer window, and could offer a big sum to try and pry Leeds‘ key defender away from LS11.

The Whites understand how important Bijol is in their plans of Premier League survival, and it would surely take a mega-money offer to convince the 49ers to sell their summer signing already.

Bijol’s injury may have come at perfect time for Leeds

Bijol is currently out injured with a hamstring problem for Leeds and is expected to miss the Whites’ clash at Elland Road against Arsenal on Saturday.

He last played in Leeds’ 3-1 FA Cup win over Derby County earlier this month, and supporters will be praying that it’s not the last they’ve seen of the centre-back

Fortunately for Leeds, the chances of Bijol passing any sort of medical with the Italian giants are slim. He is expected back to fitness in the middle of February, meaning there could be an issue in completing a medical over the coming days.

That’s if Leeds were to sell him anyway. But, this could be a developing story, and one that follows into the summer window, especially if the Whites are relegated.
