Jack Harrison wants permanent Leeds United exit, but there’s a catch

Jack Harrison may not get a permanent move to Fiorentina from Leeds United in the upcoming transfer window.

While the Englishman is “highly motivated” to remain at La Viola, it will depend on the Italian club’s prospects in the league table, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sport Witness.

The Serie A outfit have the option to buy the 29-year-old after his initial loan arrival from the Whites, but that hinges on their top-flight survival.

With the Florence side in the relegation zone, three points behind 17th-place Lecce, the West Yorkshire outfit’s loanee will undoubtedly have to work hard and help them avoid the drop.

Jack Harrison has Premier League examples as Leeds United exit to Italy wanted

It’s been claimed that Fiorentina want to see more from Harrison before making a decision on his future.

The English forward isn’t the most popular figure at Elland Road, and it would make sense for him to leave the Whites sooner rather than later.

After spells away to Everton while the West Yorkshire outfit were in the Championship, the winger returned to LS11 last summer but struggled for game time under Daniel Farke.

With the likes of Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour, Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s prospects improving since leaving the Premier League for Serie A, it isn’t surprising to see Harrison wanting to do the same.

Fiorentina find themselves in a rather unprecedented position, with the Italian club last facing relegation from the top flight in 2002.

Despite having quality players like David de Gea and Moise Kean at their disposal, La Viola will hope Harrison’s magic helps them avoid embarrassment.

Daniel Farke may already have Jack Harrison replacement on books at Elland Road

Farke was reluctant to rely on Harrison in the first half of the season, and there was evidently no place for the forward in the German manager’s new setup.

With Jayden Bogle and Gabriel Gudmundsson playing as wing-backs, Leeds have been playing a fluid 5-3-2 formation, with plenty of competition in the attacking positions.

The best thing for Harrison would be to seal a permanent exit in the summer, and the Whites already have a replacement in Facundo Buonanotte, whom they signed on loan in the winter transfer window.

If the Argentine attacker does well until the end of the campaign, the West Yorkshire outfit may be tempted to hash out another deal with Brighton.
