Jack Harrison transfer truth at Leeds United as one issue remains

Leeds United have no issues with the loan-to-buy option from Fiorentina for Jack Harrison.

It had been claimed that Harrison’s exit from Elland Road was being held up because the Whites wanted a £15million obligation to buy in the deal.

That has now been dismissed, with no issues between the West Yorkshire outfit and Italian club over the formula of the operation.

Daniel Farke looks set to lose Harrison after the English winger was unable to ingratiate himself with the fans, but one final detail still needs to be clarified.

Jack Harrison salary still being discussed ahead of Leeds United exit

Fiorentina are working to agree a reasonable salary package for Harrison, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The journalist reports on 14 January that while a deal between the Whites and La Viola is done, the 29-year-old’s high salary is a clear sticking point.

It’s been claimed that the Serie A outfit are finalising the details of the English winger’s contract ahead of his move to the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Fiorentina have also shown an interest in Jaka Bijol, having followed the 26-year-old Slovenia international for a while now.

Harrison joined the West Yorkshire outfit in 2018 from Manchester City, and his initial loan stint was made permanent in 2021, but he’s had a mixed career at Elland Road, which is likely to come to an end soon.

Who can Daniel Farke sign to replace Jack Harrison?

Farke has been dealing with Daniel James’ fitness issues this season, with the Wales international sidelined for quite some time.

Wilfried Gnonto hasn’t been consistent in his performances for Leeds in recent months either, and the change in system has arguably helped the German manager get the best out of the team.

Premier League table

While Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha have struck a decent partnership up top, there’s still need for more depth in the attack due to the uncertainty of injuries.

Sevilla forward Ruben Vargas has been linked with a move to Elland Road, though the Switzerland international’s fitness struggles may not be an encouraging sign for the Whites.
