Jack Harrison recall: Leeds United update emerges after return news

Jack Harrison is set to remain on loan with Everton from Leeds United for the rest of the season, according to The Mirror.

The news outlet reported (30 January) that the original loan agreement between the two sides will stay in place until the end of the campaign with neither party terminating the transfer during the winter window.

It was been reported by The Daily Mail (29 January) that Daniel Farke may turn to his loanee for reinforcements after missing out on multiple targets as well as suggestions that the Merseyside club wanted to free up a domestic loan space.

However, it seems as though the current agreement is set to continue.

Leeds United not bringing Jack Harrison back to Elland Road

You can understand why this may have been a possibility if Farke has missed out on some transfer targets as the boss will be eager to have the strongest team possible available to him in the second half of the campaign as the Whites hunt for automatic promotion.

However, the West Yorkshire outfit have survived very well without him so far and with the Blues also happy to abide by the current arrangement, Harrison seems set to stay on Merseyside.

Although the 28-year-old was previously successful with Leeds, plenty of time has passed since that spell and it’s likely he wouldn’t be as popular at Elland Road after leaving his parent club for his Premier League loan over the past two seasons following relegation from the top flight.

On top of that, the winger has no goal contributions from 18 league appearances this season so it’s unlikely that the boss would want to bring an out-of-form player into the side given he is only looking upwards with his team in the remaining months of the campaign.

In other Leeds United, it’s a done deal as Leeds agree a fee for a new goalkeeper.
