Jack Harrison prioritises Leeds United exit as official negotiations start

Jack Harrison has never fully been welcomed back to Leeds United.

Harrison jumped ship to Everton on loan for two years while Leeds were in the Championship, only coming back once promotion had been secured.

Daniel Farke has rarely used Harrison, only handing him one start in the Premier League this season.

With that in mind, it looks as though Farke is now happy to get rid again.

Jack Harrison steps towards Leeds United exit

Harrison is said to be prioritising a move to Valencia, with negotiations now progressing between Leeds and the Spaniards.

Speaking via Radio Marca on Friday, Matteo Moretto shared the latest regarding the exit of the English winger, who looks set to be moving away from LS11.

“There have been new contacts regarding Jack Harrison,” he said.

“The player is waiting for a firm step from VCF. He prioritises going to Valencia”

“It’s no longer just a sounding out. There is a negotiation.”

Jack Harrison by the numbers at Leeds United

As much as Leeds fans won’t want to admit it, Harrison enjoyed a great period at Elland Road.

Signing under Marcelo Bielsa, initially on loan from Manchester City, the winger set the Championship and then the Premier League alight at times.

His set-piece delivery and long-range shooting were second-to-none, but that unfortunately is a distant memory after recent treatment.

Harrison has featured 218 times for Leeds, which is wild to think.

In that time, he has scored 34 goals and delivered 32 assists, with the Championship title his one piece of silverware at Elland Road.

Now, though, times have changed significantly.

Carlos Corberan is still in charge of Valencia, and given that he knows him like the back of his hand, a move to La Liga could suit him perfectly.

Largie Ramazani is also at the Mestalla on loan, so that is another connection that could make this a suitable and comfortable switch.

Farke’s change in system to a 3-5-2 doesn’t make room for Harrison anywhere, with Noah Okafor and Willy Gnonto both able to play centrally, unlike him.

It’s best for all parties to cut ties fully this month.
