Jack Harrison holds talks over new transfer as shock deal on cards at Leeds

Jack Harrison is prepared to quit Leeds United this summer whether or not they are in the Premier League next season.

Harrison joined Everton on a season-long loan after Leeds dropped out of the Premier League in 2023 before extending his stay for another year as Daniel Farke’s side failed to earn promotion.

However, the Elland Road outfit are on course to return to the top flight as they sit atop the Championship table with 11 games left to play.

This means Harrison has a decision to make regarding his future in West Yorkshire, where he is contracted until 2028.

Everton unlikely to buy Harrison

For starters, Harrison can give up any hopes of making his stay at Everton permanent as the Toffees are unlikely to buy him from Leeds, according to YEP.

The newspaper reported via their website on 4 March that it is even more unlikely that he has a place in Farke’s plans for next season even if the Whites earn promotion to the Premier League.

This means Harrison has to prepare for life away from Merseyside and West Yorkshire, and a return to the United States has, therefore, emerged as an option for him.

The attacker could return to the MLS this summer, having spent eight years in the United States before joining Manchester City in 2018.

Harrison is said to have held ‘exploratory’ talks with representatives of MLS clubs, although Leeds are yet to receive an official approach, according to a club spokesperson, who also confirmed that a decision regarding his future will be made in the summer.

Therefore, it remains to be seen if the initial discussions will materialise into something substantial in the coming months.

Leeds to bag transfer fee for transfer sale

The former Manchester City ace could ‘entertain’ a move back to the MLS as his partner, who is from Costa Rica, spends time between the United States and England to spend time with him.

Clubs in the United States might have to push their boats out to acquire the services of a player who has spent five consecutive seasons in the Premier League.

Leeds are nevertheless expected to pocket a substantial transfer fee from Harrison’s sale as he is contracted to them for three more years.
