Jack Harrison had Leicester City medical before Leeds United pulled plug on deadline-day deal - Phil Hay
Jack Harrison had a medical at Leicester City before Leeds United backed out on a deadline-day deal to sell the winger, according to The Athletic’s Phil Hay.
Writing on The Athletic website on 1 February, Hay reported that on Tuesday evening (31 January), 26-year-old Harrison made his way to Leicester’s training ground.
It is understood that it was a pre-emptive journey to the East Midlands in case there was a last-minute agreement to sell the ex-Manchester City winger to the Foxes.
Hay, however, claims that Leeds eventually decided to keep Harrison even though he’d had a medical with Leicester.
Harrison is said to have not agitated for a transfer away from Elland Road even though a long, “substantial” contract was on the cards at the King Power Stadium.

Leeds came very close to making a big mistake.
Although Harrison hasn’t been at his best this season for the Whites, it would have been an error to sell him at such a late stage without a replacement being lined up.
There had been links to Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo but they never seemed to be that concrete in our opinion and if Harrison went, it might have just been to offset some of the spending done on Max Wober, Weston McKennie and Georginio Rutter.
Harrison has been a key player at Elland Road for several seasons.
He initially joined on loan from Manchester City in 2018 before extending his loans until 2021 and eventually signing on a permanent basis.
Harrison’s made 186 appearances in all competitions for Leeds now, scoring 30 goald and supplying 29 assists.
He played a role in our promotion-winning season and has been instrumental in the Whites staying in the Premier League too.
Harrison’s form isn’t what it was but we’d have strengthened a potential Premier League relegation rival by selling him to Leicester and we’re glad that deal wasn’t sanctioned.
