Jack Harrison considers his future at Leeds United amid latest transfer speculation

Jack Harrison is “believed to be weighing up his options” amid speculation surrounding his future at Leeds United, according to The Telegraph.

The newspaper reports that Leeds will be trying to keep hold of their best players this summer.

It is understood that it’ll be hard to convince Barcelona-linked Raphinha to stay put the Whites will make an effort to ensure Kalvin Phillips commits himself to Elland Road.

Harrison, 25, is also mentioned by The Telegraph, but it seems as though his future is up in the air with reports linking him with a move away from West Yorkshire too.

Surprise

We didn’t expect Harrison’s future to be in doubt this summer.

It was expected of players like Phillips, Raphinha, Illan Meslier and some of the fringe players, but not Harrison.

The former New York City winger has done well for the Whites in spells this season with his goal on the final day of the season at Brentford sealing Premier League survival for the Yorkshire giants.

However, the clammor for him is unexpected, as is this report saying that he’s considering his options less than 12 months after signing permanently from Manchester CIty in an overall deal, including his transfer fee and wages, worth £20million [Football Insider].

On 22 May, the Daily Mail reported that Tottenham and Newcastle United are keen on signing Harrison this summer.

It’s hard to argue against a move to those clubs being a step up from Leeds with one of them in the Champions League next season while the other has the richest owners in the world.

Harrison has spent four seasons at Leeds – three of which being on loan – so maybe he feels as though he’s at a point where he cannot progress any further at Elland Road.

If he does decide to move on and he does end up playing in Europe or playing a team with a higher potential than Leeds due to their wealthy owners, we’ll wish him all the best.

In other Leeds United news, a player has arrived in England ahead of undergoing a medical with the Whites on Thursday.
