Jack Harrison ‘100%’ certain to seal Leeds United summer transfer

Jack Harrison is 100% certain to seal a transfer away from Leeds United this summer, according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

Harrison, 26, has already emerged as a transfer target for Premier League clubs West Ham and Aston Villa after the Whites’ relegation from the Premier League.

The winger only signed a new contract at Elland Road this April, putting pen to paper in a deal until the summer of 2028.

However, the Express previously reported (24 May) that this new contract is protected by a relegation clause that would see the Englishman leave the West Yorkshire club in a cut-price deal if relegated from the Premier League.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Taylor said: “I think Marc Roca is definitely one that will move on. Rodrigo Moreno as well. Wilfried Gnonto would be a great signing for anyone.

“Jack Harrison, 100% I see him going, I don’t see him staying at the club.”

Only a matter of time

Harrison is going to be one of many Leeds players who will be heading out of the exit doors this summer after their relegation from the Premier League.

Although he only recently signed a new contract, the former Manchester City man is far too talented to be languishing in the Championship next season.

In an otherwise disappointing season for the Whites, the winger was one of few bright sparks, finishing the season strongly and amassing five goals and seven assists from 36 Premier League outings.

Not a single Leeds fan will blame Harrison if he does want to seal a move away from Elland Road, but if they are going to sell him, it is better to do it sooner rather than later.

Getting any substantial fee in the bank can subsequently allow Leeds to explore the market and get their signings well in advance of the 2023/24 Championship season.

If they wait too long, other clubs will see them coming for transfers in the latter stages of the window and hold the club to ransom.

This is a crucial few months for the long-term future of Leeds, so decisions have to be made, and fast.

In other Leeds United news, the EFL are still weeks away from given their official confirmation of the takeover deal according to Phil Hay.
