Illan Meslier exit lined up at Leeds United as transfer now on cards
Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier could be on his way out of Elland Road with Olympique Marseille actively pursuing the shot-stopper, according to Santi Aouna.
Writing for Footmercato, the journalist claimed that with Marseille looking to reshape their squad under new coach Roberto De Zerbi, Meslier has emerged as a prime target amidst their efforts to trim the wage bill and rejuvenate the team.
Talks between Marseille and the 22-year-old goalkeeper are reportedly already underway and they are now ready to pounce.
Aouna added that the French club are generally looking for reinforcements in all positions this summer.
This could be the end of Meslier’s journey at Leeds United

The 24-year-old goalkeeper, who has been an important figure for the Whites since joining permanently in 2020, is now reportedly drawing interest from Marseille.
Despite Meslier signing a contract extension until 2026 not long ago, his impressive performances, including 19 clean sheets last season, have attracted Marseille’s attention as they look to strengthen their squad under new management.
For Meslier, who has established himself as a top-tier goalkeeper in Yorkshire, this could potentially open a new chapter in his career at a club with ambitions in a competitive league like Ligue 1.

And as Leeds assess their options following another season in the Championship, Meslier’s potential departure could mean a big change in their goalkeeping setup.
In other Leeds news, this Whites star “certainly” won’t play in the Championship next season.
