Igor Paixao signing ‘almost done deal’ as Leeds get ready for Sunday completion

Igor Paixao has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds United.

So far this summer, the Whites have made plenty of progress on the recruitment front, though they remain intent on signing more attacking quality.

Paixao has been heavily linked, though an agreement was said to have been reached with Marseille earlier in the window.

Those talks have since stalled, and it looks as if Leeds may now have got their man.

Paixao deal close as Leeds edge towards major transfer

Leeds have been in the market for attacking reinforcements, and they had seemingly made Paixao a priority.

Now, they look to have taken a step closer to his signing, with it reported via Feyenoord Transfermarkt (27 July) that the deal is “really close”.

Daily Mercato claim that it is “almost a done deal” with the final details of the deal being ironed out between all parties, and could be completed by the end of play on Sunday.

The Brazilian had a remarkable campaign with Feyenoord last time out, and should this deal go through, it would be a major addition to their squad.

If all things go well, Paixao could become the eighth summer addition at Elland Road, with several more expected.

Paixao could transform Leeds

Leeds certainly lacks some quality in the forward areas, and Paixao would change that.

His direct style of play and ability to score goals is exactly what Leeds are missing, with his creativity also set to play a huge role.

Of course, the outcome of that creativity may depend on what the Whites can achieve in their hunt for a new striker, with Rodrigo Muniz the most heavily linked target so far.

Should this deal go through, it would be a huge statement of intent from Leeds and increase their chances of surviving in the Premier League massively.
