‘Igor Paixao agreement reached’ as Leeds United target set for move
Igor Paixao has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds United.
After the 0-0 draw with Man United in pre-season, it remains even more evident that attacking reinforcements will be needed before the Premier League campaign.
Even more so with it revealed that Patrick Bamford is on his way out after talks had been held with Daniel Farke.
Paixao was one of the attackers linked to satisfy those needs, with a new update emerging on his future at Feyenoord.

Leeds set to miss out on another signing after Paixao reveal
Understandably so, fans were excited when Paixao was linked with a move to Elland Road, with it looking as though things were progressing nicely.
However, those hopes of a deal being concluded have since been subdued, with it reported by Sacha Tavolieri via X (19 July) that Marseille have now reached an agreement in principle for his transfer.
Igor Paixao’s 2024/25 Eredivisie statistics | Total |
Appearances | 34 |
Goals | 16 |
Expected goals (xG) | 10.56 |
Assists | 14 |
Goal conversion | 17% |
Big chances created | 12 |
Paixao is expected to join the Liguer 1 giants in a deal worth upwards of £30million, with a five-year contract awaiting his approval.
While it seemed like an ambitious move to start with, it was one that was starting to gather pace, though Leeds look set to end the chase empty-handed.

Farke will be frustrated at Leeds transfer failures
Paixao looks set to become one of many players Leeds have targeted and missed out on, and it remains to be seen as to why.
Whether players aren’t convinced by the project on display at Elland Road, or whether the Whites simply aren’t offering the going rate for players, it needs to be addressed.
Leeds have a lot of work left to do this summer, and signing players to bolster their attack will be the number one priority, and time is slowly running out for the Whites to secure that.
