‘I love our transfer activity’, ‘Serious talent’ – Some Leeds fans excited by transfer report
Leeds United fans are thrilled to see that the club is reportedly closing in on a deal to sign another promising young player from Europe.
It is something that Victor Orta has pressed on with a lot since his arrival as director of football in 2017 with Leeds’ youth squads being completely transformed by the Spanish recruitment chief.
And now, it seems that he’s set to add another young European goalkeeper to the squad with Netherlands Under-17 international Dani van den Heuvel on his way to West Yorkshire.
Van den Heuvel, 17, confirmed on his personal Instagram account on Tuesday that he is leaving Ajax after three years with the Dutch giants.
And as that news was being revealed, Dutch news outlet Ajax Showtime reported that he has rejected a new deal in Amsterdam in order to join Leeds United.
VoetbalZone also reported the same about the young goalkeeper.
Leeds fans are excited by the prospect of a Dutch youth international heading their way this summer.
One Leeds supporter has hailed van den Heuvel as a “serious talent” while another has hailed the club’s transfer activity so far this summer.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
It is hard to know whether or not van den Heuvel is going to be a star for Leeds in the future.
Orta’s signed a lot of young players in the last three years. Some have done well – many have done nothing and have since left.
We hope van den Heuvel is among the success stories but there are a lot of young goalkeepers at Elland Road.
Illan Meslier, Elia Caprile and Kamil Miazek are among them.
Van den Heuvel will have to do a lot to stand out from the crowd.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites offered £34.1million for this player.
