Hull City are in talks with Farense to hijack a last-gasp deal for Leeds United target Mohamed Belloumi, according to Hull Live.

The website reported on Friday (30 August) that the Tigers are looking to beat Leeds to the Algerian winger's signature ahead of the 11 pm deadline.

It is understood that the 22-year-old has expressed his desire to leave the Primeira Liga club, as per Rivalite, with the forward available for £5million [A Bola, 27 August].

Leeds United set to miss out on Mohamed Belloumi transfer?

Following a summer full of transfer exits, Elland Road could finally be a very busy destination as the clock ticks towards the transfer window closing at 11 pm on Friday 30 August.

Daniel Farke has lost key stars in the shape of Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter, as well as midfield duo Archie Gray and Glen Kamara, leaving several gaps in the squad.

Even with the recent signings of Largie Ramazani from Almeria, Manor Solomon on loan from Tottenham, and now Ao Tanaka from Fortuna Dusseldorf, there could be more to come over the next few hours.

Given the new injury updates surrounding Patrick Bamford and Dan James, it makes sense for another attacking signing to be brought to West Yorkshire, and Belloumi looks like an exciting prospect.

He notched seven goals and four assists for an average Farense side last season, being the second-highest goalscorer and second-best playmaker in the squad.

Mateo Joseph has been loving life in his new striker role, being trusted by Farke to lead the line, but it would do the club no harm to bring in another option for the final third before the window slams shut.

If the player is only available for £5million, it seems like a no-brainer for the Whites to strike a deal before more injury concerns arise at Elland Road this summer.
