Helder Costa faces Leeds United exit with personal terms agreed to sign Noa Lang
Helder Costa’s days at Leeds United may be numbered if Marcelo Bielsa manages to land Club Brugge winger Noa Lang before the end of the month.
Belgian football news website Voetbal Belgie has recently reported that the Whites have agreed personal terms to sign Lang, 22, and remain in discussions with Brugge about a transfer fee.
The Athletic journalist Phil Hay has added weight to this by reporting that Victor Orta has interest in the former Ajax attacker, who can play anywhere across the front line.
If Leeds sign Lang, there’s no doubt that will be this summer’s marquee signing as the Dutch winger tore up Belgian football last season as Club Brugge won the Jupiler League title.
Lang scored 17 goals and supplied 11 assists in 38 appearances across all competitions and his pace, skill and ability to have a direct influence on goals means he could be the perfect addition to Bielsa’s attack before the end of the month.
And while Lang’s potential arrival is good news for fans, it could be viewed as bad news for Costa, who may be witnessing the curtains closing on his career at Elland Road.
Last month, Hay reported on The Athletic website that questions will be raised on Costa’s future in West Yorkshire if Bielsa signs another winger to add to his squad.
Costa’s reportedly attracted attention from Valencia without any bids being made. But there’s a good chance a successful swoop for Lang will whip up more serious interest in the former Wolves winger, who cost the Whites £16million lasy year [Daily Mail].
The Portuguese ace was an expensive mistake with his performances last season failing to meet expectations in the Premier League.
Costa failed to make the grade in the Premier League with Wolves and seems to have done so with us.
It might be time to say goodbye to him and welcome Lang as a replacement as he’s more versatile, is on an upward trend and is bound to get better and better under Bielsa.
In other Leeds United news, this star player has been ruled out of the clash against Everton on Saturday.
