With just over a week to go until the transfer window shuts for international deals, the question on the lips of every Leeds United fan is this: Will Rodrigo De Paul sign?

The transfer saga around De Paul has been going on for a long time but has stalled over the valuation.

Earlier in the week, Udinese chief Pierpaolo Marino said, "De Paul to Leeds? They’ve not matched the €35m price tag at the moment... so I hope he can stay."

However, one major development on Thursday night has seemingly made the deal more likely to happen – at least in the eyes of a lot of Leeds fans.

Prominent Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Roberto Pereyra is about to be announced as a new signing by Udinese.

The Watford playmaker has been hailed as the replacement for De Paul at Udinese [Messaggero Veneto] and his arrival – back at the club after leaving for Juventus – could mean that some compromise is set to be reached with Leeds.

Di Marzio said that Pereyra should be announced on Friday and there are plenty of Leeds fans who have been given fresh hope by the news.
