Glen Kamara medical booked ahead of new Leeds United transfer developments

Leeds United midfielder Glen Kamara is set to undergo his medical with Rennes on Tuesday 16 July, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist has shared on X that a deal is done with an £8.6million move agreed on between the clubs over the weekend.

Kamara will leave Elland Road after only one full season at the club, joining from Rangers after relegation from the Premier League.

Glen Kamara set for Leeds United transfer exit

Given that the midfielder was absent from recent training footage at Thorp Arch, it was clear that a move was being ironed out in the background.

Signed for £5million, the Whites are set for a healthy profit in terms of PSR at Elland Road, but replacements will be needed [Beren Cross].

Daniel Farke looks to be clearing out the squad in certain parts to allow that to happen, with decent money also being raised at the same time.

With Archie Gray also moving on this summer, Joe Rothwell may not be the only new signing that is completed in the middle of the park.

Rothwell on loan from Bournemouth was a positive start, but more is needed if Leeds are to seriously push for promotion back to the Premier League again next season.

With over £50million raised in player sales, hopefully, attention can be switched over to incomings now at Elland Road, with a big four weeks to go until the new season.
