Glen Kamara agrees personal terms to quit Leeds United in new transfer update

Leeds United midfielder Glen Kamara has agreed terms to join Rennes, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The newspaper reported via their print edition [4 July, page 15] that thanks to the departure of Enzo Le Fee, Kamara has found himself atop the Ligue 1 club’s wishlist.

The report also adds that the distance between Leeds and Rennes agreeing terms for the transfer is becoming closer.

Why Leeds United should try to keep Glen Kamara

Unfortunately for Leeds fans, they can’t settle in the transfer market just yet as departures are still likely to be made this summer [Alan Nixon, 1 July].

Indeed, the recent departure of Archie Gray to Tottenham has put the West Yorkshire outfit in a stronger negotiating position [Graham Smyth, 3 July] than they previously had but they likely won’t want to make a thing of selling their best players.

Especially in the case of Kamara as the former Rangers man was the anchor to their team last season.

Gray’s departure has already caused ripples across the fanbase and Kamara’s exit could be the final straw.

Although the Whites would be receiving a hefty fee for the Finland international, it’ll be fairly difficult for the club to find a suitable replacement.

Granted, both Ilia Gruev and Ethan Ampadu can be deployed there if needed but neither has the same attacking energy that the 28-year-old could bring to the team.

In other Leeds news, the Whites are playing hardball in the transfer of Diego Llorente.
