Georginio Rutter unhappy at Leeds United as behind-the-scenes news emerges in Germany

Georginio Rutter could be set for a Leeds United exit as the forward is unhappy at Elland Road, according to Frankfurter Rundschau.

The German newspaper reported on 4 August that the Frenchman could be heading back on loan to TSG Hoffenheim after signing for the Whites for a club-record £35.5million fee.

The Bundesliga side are desperately looking for a new forward and are believed to be considering a move to take the 21-year-old back to Germany just eight months after he left for West Yorkshire.

Not another loan

The last thing Leeds need this summer is another big-money signing to be heading out on loan just months after signing a long-term contract.

It so far hasn’t been revealed whether or not he is one of the players that has a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave following the relegation, but the lack of interest so far shows that might not be the case.

Looking back at the signing of Rutter, it was quite foolish to pay a hefty transfer fee for him after he scored a modest 11 goals in 64 games for Hoffenheim.

His time with the Whites has so far proved to be a failure, having not found the back of the net and just added one assist in his 13 games for the club.

But he does have five years left on his contract and there’s simply no way the hierarchy should be allowing another player to leave on loan if they don’t have to.

It isn’t a great situation for anyone if he is unhappy, but if he can get playing some games and start scoring goals, he may start to feel better about life at Elland Road.
