Georgian journalist Lasha Kokiashvili has given Leeds United fans a reason to be excited about recent speculation linking the Whites with Rubin Kazan attacker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Earlier this week, FootballFanCast reported that Victor Orta had held talks about signing the 20-year-old Georgia international, who’s also been linked with Bayern Munich.
Speculation linking Kvaratskhelia with Elland Road prompted POSTV reporter Kokiashvili to respond, assign further information about the latest Leeds target.
“I know not many of you have heard about this boy. I know a lot of you laugh at his name and surname, but you can not even imagine what talent he is talking about,” said Kokiashvili via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday.
He added: “Per my information, Rubin want at least €20-25million (£17.4-£21.7million).”

Another new winger?
While Leeds already have a lot of wingers in their squad, they don’t have too many that are naturally used on the left-hand side.
Ezgjan Alioski’s contract is up at the end of the season and he’s been strongly linked with a move to Galatasaray. While he’s played at left-back most of the season, he’s still someone who Marcelo Bielsa would use as a back-up to Jack Harrison.
Once he goes, that’s a potential left-winger down so signing Kvaratskhelia does make sense as he’s a natural left-sided attacker.
This season, Kvaratskhelia has scored four goals and supplied eight assists in 23 league matches for Rubin Kazan.
He scored a superb goal last year, which led to the Russian Premier League’s Twitter account hailing the Georgian for his “world-class” skills.
Just look at this boy! 🌟

It says a lot that Bayern are also linked with Kvaratskhelia. If they want the 20-year-old, he must be a serious talent that Orta has done well to scope out.
However, it does seem as though there have only been talks at this stage and there are still doubts about whether the Georgian could earn a work permit to move to the UK.
Given he’s a full international and could be quite a pricey signing, we think it should be ok but Orta will know best and probably won’t waste his time on signing someone who wouldn’t be able to get international clearance.
