Fulham have solidified their initial interest in signing Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville, according to Lyall Thomas on social media.

Posting on his X account [22 July], Sky Sports journalist Lyall reported that Fulham have joined West Ham United in registering an interest in the in-demand Dutchman.

Sky Sports add on their transfer blog that the Hammers are currently far away from matching Leeds' valuation of Summerville and would need the Championship club to lower their demands in order to strike a deal.

Race for Leeds United star Summerville widens

Many at Leeds United - perhaps even Daniel Farke himself - have resigned themselves to the idea that Summerville played his last competitive game for the club in May's Championship play-off final.

For now he remains a Whites player - and with so many clubs circling and the bidding war set to intensify as the window rolls on, he may even feature on the opening weekend against Portsmouth at Elland Road.

Summerville himself clearly wants top-flight and potentially European football, not to mention a call-up to the Netherlands squad, so will push for a move - but appears in little rush as his camp know the depth of his options and what a careful decision it has to be for the 22-year-old.

It could prove to be out of the playmaker's hands in any case - Leeds are demanding at least £30m for their main man, and if a club slaps a gargantuan offer on the table, the club will want to get the deal complete and bring a lucrative end to the saga.

Fulham, meanwhile, have just recouped a huge windfall after the £43m switch of Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich, with the likes of Tosin and Bobby Decordova-Reid also off the wage bill and no arrivals so far to come in at Craven Cottage.
