Fiorentina want ‘perfect’ Leeds player to follow Jack Harrison in double transfer
Fiorentina are looking for a new centre-back after agreeing a deal with Leeds United for Jaka Bijol.
The Serie A outfit are 18th in the league table and are looking to strengthen their squad to get out of the relegation zone.
Harrison will move to the Stadio Artemio Franchi, with an £8.6million option to buy included in the deal.
Daniel Farke isn’t keen on losing players at Elland Road, but La Viola are already preparing a second signing from the West Yorkshire outfit.
Jaka Bijol another Fiorentina target at Leeds United
Jaka Bijol has emerged as a target for Fiorentina as they look to strengthen their defence in January, according to La Nazione.
The news outlet reports on 13 January that Fabio Paratici, who’s about to leave Tottenham, has been tasked with finding a new quality centre-back, and have set their eyes on Elland Road.
It’s been claimed that the Slovenia international has long been on the Serie A club’s radar and is once again on their agenda.
The Italian outfit have discussions open for several defenders, with the 26-year-old one of the options.
Bijol has slowly become a key player for Farke, especially since playing with Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk in a back three.
Speaking after the 3-1 win over Chelsea on 3 December, the German manager said, “When you play in a back three, there’s not as much responsibility on you, and Bijol for me was perfect in that role tonight. You know, Pascal and Joe on either side of him, and they look solid, they look strong, and that’s the benefit of playing in that formation.”
Fiorentina transfer surely impossible after what’s seen at Elland Road
Rodon was back in action against Newcastle United, as the Whites suffered heartbreak in the 4-3 defeat at St James’ Park.
The Wales international wasn’t part of the squad in the FA Cup third round win over Derby County, with the Leeds defender rested as a precautionary measure.

Sebastiaan Bornauw picked up a knock at Pride Park Stadium, leading to doubts about his availability for the upcoming fixtures.
Injuries will certainly play a part in the West Yorkshire outfit’s season, and it would undoubtedly be foolish to sell someone like Bijol in the winter window.
