Feyenoord twist as Leeds United attacker Luis Sinsiterra to join Bournemouth
Feyenoord are set to miss out on any resale windfall as Luis Sinisterra is set to leave Leeds United and join Bournemouth.
Dutch media outlet Voetbal International reported on 8 February that as Leeds are not making a profit on the sale of the Colombian, Feyenoord are not entitled to any money.
When they sold the 24-year-old to Leeds, they were paid £20million which is what is effectively being recouped from his sale.
Not a bad deal for Leeds United
The impending sale of Sinisterra to Bournemouth for £20million, without yielding a profit, may not be a financial windfall, but it’s a pragmatic move considering his injury-prone and inconsistent performances.
Despite his potential, Sinisterra’s tenure at Elland Road was marred by fitness concerns and a lack of sustained impact on the pitch.
Furthermore, Sinisterra’s transition to Bournemouth hasn’t yet showcased him as a transformative player.
With Leeds United already boasting a depth of attacking options, including Dan James, Joel Piroe, Crysencio Summerville and Goerginio Rutter, the 24-year-old’s departure allows the club to streamline resources and focus on strengthening other areas of the squad.
While Feyenoord may miss out on any resale windfall, Leeds’ ability to recoup their initial investment without incurring losses demonstrates sound financial management.

Prioritising squad cohesion and performance over potential resale value aligns with Leeds’ strategic objectives, ensuring they remain competitive in their pursuit of success.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites could have moved fast to sign a West Ham defender with just a few negotiation points left to iron out.
