Facundo Buonanotte long-term transfer plans revealed after Leeds United loan

Facundo Bunanotte could potentially leave Brighton & Hove Albion on loan again in the summer transfer window after moving to Leeds United.

The Argentina international’s spell at Chelsea was cut short, and he signed for the Whites until the end of the season in January.

Adam Pope shared on BBC Sport on 20 February that the attacking-midfielder doesn’t feature in the Seagulls’ long-term plans as they believe they have enough quality in his position.

It’s been claimed that if the East Sussex club are unable to find a permanent solution for the 21-year-old in the summer, he will probably leave on loan again.

Facundo Buonanotte now has Leeds United priority

Leeds don’t have an obligation or option to buy Buonanotte once his loan deal expires.

The Argentine midfielder made his full debut under Daniel Farke against Birmingham City at St Andrew’s, but he was hooked off at half-time as the Whites won the FA Cup fourth round on penalties.

Supporters haven’t been convinced by the youngster’s start at Elland Road, but he has time to turn things around until the end of the season.

The German manager will surely want to see more from Buonanotte at the West Yorkshire outfit, and it remains to be seen how much patience the 49-year-old head coach will have with him.

Writing in BBC Sport on 20 February, Pope said, “As I understand, the Argentina international does not figure in Brighton’s long-term plans, where he has two years remaining on his contract. That situation would change if the head coach were to be dismissed at some point. At present, the Seagulls believe they have enough quality players in Buonanotte’s position, so if there was no permanent deal for him, he would probably go on loan again next season. If they were to be relegated, they may use him in the Championship.”

The Argentina international will likely need to make an impact during his remaining time in LS11 to convince 49ers Enterprises to make another move for him, but a deal could seemingly be on the table if they decided to sign the playmaker next summer.

Daniel Farke to push for Facundo Buonanotte transfer after what’s been said

Farke appears to be a big fan of Buonanotte, with Leeds in the race to sign him before his move to Chelsea last summer.

When the opportunity to get the midfielder in the winter transfer window arose, the Whites took the opportunity.

The German manager is certainly a big fan of the playmaker, and speaking in a recent press conference, he said, “If we want a player to come in and make our starting line up straight away better we need to invest £30m, that’s a fact, maybe even more in the January window, perhaps £40m. I never had these expectations about him. We just like his potential and his character a lot and if it works then great.”

Buonanotte has work to do at the West Yorkshire outfit, and if he can contribute to their success in the Premier League, the Argentine youngster may seal a return to LS11.
