Leeds United are reportedly keen on signing Brighton attacking midfielder Facundo Buonanotte this summer.

After making seven first-team signings, the Whites are still intent on adding to their ranks before the transfer window closes.

Buonanotte, 20, has been viewed as a player who will strengthen the Leeds side and he appears to be on his way out of Brighton.

Buonanotte expected to join Champions League club amid Borussia Dortmund links

According to Adam Pope, the Argentina international is a player on Leeds' radar.

The BBC journalist reported on 8 August that he is expected to move to a Champions League club in the coming weeks.

Pope also mentions links to Borussia Dortmund, with a move to the Bundesliga side a possibility.

Buonanotte spent last season on loan in the Premier League at Leicester City and put in impressive performances despite their relegation.

His deal at the AmEx Stadium doesn't run out until June 2028, but an exit seems to be on the cards this summer.

Leeds United must prioritise signing a quality striker over a versatile attacking midfielder like Buonanotte to maximise their chances of avoiding Premier League relegation.

A clinical number nine addresses their critical need for consistent goal-scoring, which is often the difference between survival and relegation in the top flight.

Last season, the Whites led the Championship in terms of goal scoring, but the English first division is a different ball game.

A proven striker, capable of 10-15 goals, would provide the cutting edge needed to secure vital points in tight matches.
