Leeds United to sign all documents on Summerville transfer – Fabrizio Romano
Leeds United are now set to sign off on all documents to finalise Crysencio Summerville’s exit to West Ham United, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Writing via his Daily Briefing page on Thursday (1 August), the Italian journalist reiterated that West Ham will pay an upfront fee of £25m to Leeds plus various add-ons.
Summerville is set to undergo a medical with the Premier League side on Thursday (1 August), leaving just the formal documents to be signed off on from Leeds’ side.
The Dutchman is expected to sign a five-year deal at London Stadium [David Ornstein, 31 July].
Leeds United must move on from Crysencio Summerville
Losing a player of Summerville’s quality is a massive blow for Leeds, even if supporters now want to play down the impact the Dutchman made last season.
While it is true he faded out of certain games all too often, the goals and assists tallies speak for themselves – there was nobody better in the Championship last season.
Leeds do at least now have just under a month to find a replacement for Summerville, even if that is not like-for-like in the final third of the field.
Ideally speaking, a new player or two will be brought in before the Championship campaign begins in a little over a week’s time.

And given the speculation that has surrounded Summerville not just this summer but across the previous couple of windows, you would like to think there are options lined up.
This is where Leeds’ transfer department make their money, so let’s just hope the departure of Summerville is not felt too keenly.
