Fabrizio Romano: Tyler Adams agent agrees Leeds United exit, ‘here we go’

Tyler Adams is set to depart Leeds United after Chelsea have agreed a deal for the midfielder, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Sky Sports Italy journalist tweeted on 10 August that the Premier League side have activated the US international’s £20million relegation release clause.

He said the deal is now “done” after an agreement has been reached with the 24-year-old’s agent in London over personal terms after 10 days of negotiations.

Another one exits

It will be a huge blow for Leeds to see another one of their stars leave Elland Road this summer after a number of players have activated their release clauses.

Robin Koch, Max Wober, Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca and Rodrigo have all left the club as all of them – barring the Spanish forward – were desperate to continue playing at the highest possible level.

That now appears to be case for Adams as well as his move to Chelsea is all but officially confirmed after agreeing personal terms.

Leeds United

The story has been developing over the past couple of weeks as Romano revealed it has taken 10 days for the player to eventually agree upon his move to Stamford Bridge.

Although it will be disappointing to see another player head out the door – particularly as the season is already underway – it will provide more money for Daniel Farke to strengthen other areas of his squad this summer.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites must act quickly to land one of the Championship’s best midfielders.
